“How about a group of puffer fish hovering around a sun dial?” asked my friend Heather when we discussed topics for paintings. Well, how about that? It would be pretty much exactly what I like to paint anyways, so I started right away!
These rotund green fellows here are actually a species I used to keep as pets many years ago, and only after I was done with the painting, I recalled a dream I had back then, of one of these strange and adorable fish floating around my mom’s flower garden. It was the same scale as the ones in the painting, too, about a foot long instead of the few centimeters they actually are.
Acrylics on fibre board, 40×50cm, framed
